Premiers Active April
Health is a state of mind, wellness is a state of being. Fun for the whole family!
On Saturday April 4, Lakes Entrance Aquadome and East Gippsland Shire Council are putting on a free wellness day for the whole family to enjoy.
Kicking off from 10am, this community event will feature health and wellbeing stallholders, local businesses as well as loads of fun activities for everyone to try including yoga, meditation, a mighty kids obstacle course and even a healthy BBQ.
Kelly Smart, Centre Coordinator at Lakes Entrance Aquadome, said that the event was a great opportunity to give back to the community following a tough few months across the region.
“We thought it would be great to get the community together in a space that is fun and focused on not just being physically active but also mentally healthy,” she said.
“We really wanted to give back to our members and that’s how the event came about. We have always focused on showcasing different ways of being active and healthy rather than just getting to the gym. There is so much more to do to be active – it’s not just running on a treadmill.”
With so many businesses across the region offering health and wellness treatments and products, the event is a great way to bring all of it together for everyone to experience.
“Normally in East Gippsland it can take a fair bit of travel and research to get around to different businesses. We wanted to bring it all together as a way to showcase what the community has on offer,” said Kelly.
