Get Into Cardio Tennis

So what is Get into Cardio Tennis?

Get Into Cardio Tennis is a low-impact, tennis-based group activity. The workouts have been specifically designed for adults who want to make a start at the game and are conducted in a fun, friendly and non-competitive environment. There’s also a major difference between Get Into Cardio Tennis and other tennis activities as the workouts are completed in the park. You don’t use tennis courts – or nets for that matter – and you’ll get a great workout in a safe and supportive environment.

What will you be doing?

The session will start with a warm-up, then a series of game-based activities and a cool-down. The activities have names like ‘caterpillar’, ‘lobster’, ‘bingo’ and ‘know your neighbour’. You’ll clock up between 3,000 – 4,000 steps on your pedometer, increase your heart rate at a safe level, and build your confidence with a tennis racquet and ball. Over a period of a few weeks, the aim is to slowly and safely build your fitness and hitting ability, before you might be feeling ready to take the next step at your local tennis club or centre. Or, you might just prefer to stay in the park. There are loads of activities each week to keep you occupied, busy, and most importantly, moving!
