Premiers Active April
If you’re a busy mum, like Karen Martini, then it’s pretty likely that your life’s a juggle. And not the easy ‘three-ball’ kind – we’re talking world-class circus level! This year, Karen has signed on as an ambassador for Premier’s Active April because she wanted to make a commitment, to herself, to move more.
If you haven’t seen Karen on TV, then you may have eaten at one of her restaurants, or made one of her recipes. She founded Melbourne Wine Room, Sydney’s Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, and beloved St Kilda pizzeria Mr Wolf. She’s also been food editor for Fairfax’s Sunday Life magazine and the Epicure lift-out and is now a food columnist for the Good Weekend supplement. Add to that a number of cookbooks authored, and a new one on its way in 2020. Plus, she’s raising a young family. In short, it’s a juggle.
Karen’s message for getting active is about finding ways to move more in the everyday – no extreme measures needed; no 5am gym sessions or 11pm jogs. Karen’s advice is to think about ways to tweak your normal routine: like walk the kids to school, or park a bit further from the station, or take the dog for a walk… even a couple of times a day and with the kids.
Exercise is so important to health and wellbeing and registering for Premier’s Active April is a way to join Karen in making a commitment, to yourself.
