New Year’s Resolution: Let’s Ride!

Have you always dreamed of getting into cycling but feel that you may have missed the boat?

Active April-News-CyclingVIC-55It’s never too late to start and get involved in the joy that is cycling. There is a flourishing community of people over 55 from all walks of life who have taken up cycling and are reaping the many benefits it offers.

In 2017, Cycling Victoria in partnership with VicHealth will celebrate two years of the State Sport Program ‘Life Cycle 55+’. Life Cycle 55+ is a cycling program designed for people aged 55 or over who want to get on their bikes and ride.

Life Cycle 55+ Explore offers you the opportunity to discover your local area through a combination of bike trails and low traffic roads. Melbourne has some fantastic bike trails and Life Cycle 55+ takes full advantage of this. The rides are designed to develop rider skills and increase confidence. Our leaders invite you to come along to their weekly rides. As they often say: ‘The more, the merrier! It’s all about fun, riding, meeting new people and of course stopping for coffee!’.

The rides will always start at the same time and start location, most weeks of the year. The rides will go for between one to two hours. The rides are all led by one of Cycling Victoria’s accredited and very experienced ride leaders.

To register interest and know where the rides take place, please visit www.lifecycle55.com.au/explore.

For more information and details about the program you can go to the Life Cycle 55 website or their Facebook page.
