YMCA sets your sights on life-long health

We were thrilled to see Victorians use Premier’s Active April as an opportunity to get healthy and active at the YMCA.

It was so great in fact that we want to see everyone who got involved continue their journey for health and wellness with us. And with that in mind, we thought we’d offer a few little tips and offers to help keep you motivated to stay on track.

Revisit and renew your goals

FamiliesWalking_500x328Remember when you signed up for Premier’s Active April? Now that it’s over, why not take a moment to revisit your goals, successes, and how good you felt achieving them?

Grab a fresh piece of paper and a pen and write down five new goals. Pin this piece of paper up somewhere you can see it every day. This will help keep you motivated during your ongoing physical activity streak.

Think variety and fun

The old adage goes “variety is the spice of life.” We couldn’t agree more.

If you keep your activities fresh and exciting, you’ll be more inclined to keep participating. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and try new things. If you have never been hiking, why not give that a go? Haven’t done backstroke since you were little? Dive on in!

Exercise shouldn't be a chore. Make it fun, mix it up and keep it exciting. Try new activities such as surfing, dancing or pilates. By keeping it fun, you are more likely to keep doing it.
