Premiers Active April
Got a question about getting your school involved in Premiers Active April? You’ll most likely find the answer below.
Yes. And you’ll be helping your school win Prizes just by nominating your school during registration.
Teachers can also create teams for their students to join. You can either create a team for your specific class or a team for the whole school to join. This can be done during registration or from the Teams page once you’ve logged in. See our How to Register and School Teams pages for instructions.
Firstly, they’ll need to Register for Active April. If they’re not already registered:
Visit the How to Register page for step-by-step instructions.
Once registered, students can join a school team by requesting to join or being invited into the team by the teacher. Easy instructions for this are found on the School Teams page.
Yes, but we recommend students Register themselves (or have their parents do so for them if under 12 years old). This is so that the parent can log in as each family member, and have the student saved in their account for next year.
Alternatively, teachers can register students if they have parental consent. See the ‘Student registered by a teacher’ section in the How to Register page.
If your students are under 12 years of age, they should have parental consent before they sign up for Active April.
As a teacher, you can Download the Active April Schools Consent Form (DOCX, 892 KB, 1p), print it out and give it to parents along with the Download the Active April Information for Parents Flyer (PDF, 2MB 2pp). Parents can then register their child at home and request to join the team created by the teacher.
That’s okay. They can still join a school team. See above for “How do students join a school team?”
It’s easy. Once a teacher has registered and created a team in the mobile or web app, during April they’ll be able to see the activity for all students in the team and the team as a whole from the Tracker page. This will be a great way to motivate your students to get involved in Active April, and in particular to keep up their physical activity during the school holidays. Teachers can use the activity graphs in class to show their students how active the team is.
Yes, if the team as a whole complete the activity! The Tracker allows the Team Owner (usually the teacher) to add activity for the whole team. Go to the Tracker and when adding your activity, simply tick the box that asks ‘Tick if you completed this activity with others to add time to your team mate’s trackers.’
Participants must track their daily activity in the mobile or web app to achieve online trophies. The first activity trophy is for tracking 5 days – so set yourself, your class and your friends the challenge and see how many days and trophies you can collect.
When you’ve logged 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 days with 30 minutes of activity or more, you’ll get a notification in the mobile or web app that trophies are available to view in your Trophy Cabinet to then print out or share on Facebook.
